The Passing of Eileen's Mother

On Aug. 31st Eileen's mother passed away. Since Rick had to be in Arbuckle (just north of Sacramento) the first week of Sept. we cancelled his flight on Monday and drove instead. We rescheduled his rental car for Sunday at Sac. Airport and Eileen dropped Rick off there and continued on to Susan's in Madera for the week to help finish cleaning Mom's apartment and all the little things that needed to be taken care of. Paul flew in the following Sat. morning and Scott drove Sat. arriving about 3:30 pm. We had a viewing in Madera on Wed. Sept. 11th with a graveside service in Vacaville on the 12th. David drove up arriving at Susan's early Wed. morning. The Johnsons and the Rowans came up from Merced and we had a good visit with them.
Aunt Arva flew in with her two daughters, Tammy and Maryanne, Thursday morning for the service in Vacaville. It was really wonderful to see them again. The Relief Society provided and nice meal of the chapel for us after the service.
Ashley flew up from Phoenix Wed. morning and Susan's Melanie picked her up. Rick then drove up from Madera and picked her up to come down to be with us. Reid and Melissa drove all day Wed. to get to Vacaville and were there for the graveside service. This is a picture of Ashley and Melissa.

This is Reid and Joel (Melanie's husband). Reid is going over the finer points of his camera. Be sure to check out his blog spot as he is becoming quite the photographer. Also check out all the wonderful things happening with his postgraduate work. We are really proud of both our children and they accomplishments.
We want to thank all those whose thoughts and prayers have been with Rick and I recently with the loss of both of our mothers.
