Trip to Crescent Lake

On Sunday, June 24th, we decided to drive north to Lake Crescent. The clouds didn't look as bad that direction. However, by the time we got there, it was raining. Since we didn't want to get the cameras wet, just took pictures from the rolled down windows. But, we did enjoy the drive.
By the time we had driven back down to Ruby's Beach, the sun was out so we were able to stop and hike down to the beach for a time. This is really a beautiful spot and one we will miss when we move to Utah.

We walked a ways down the beach since it was so nice at this time. We enjoyed our stay even though we couldn't stay as long as we would have liked since we had to leave Rocky in the car. But we enjoyed the sun while it lasted.

Eileen took this photo to show the awesome power of the ocean. The rocks embedded in the root system was really something to see. Also, the tree had been tosssed by the waves high up onto the beach.

By the time we got down to Lake Quinault it was raining again but we saw this rainbow going into the lake. It really was an incredible site.

Ashley Moves to Phoenix

Eileen picked up Ashley and Nathan at the Airport friday morning and dropped them off in Olympia to get the Penske truck for Ashley's belongings to move it all to Phoenix. We thought they would call us when they got to Ocean Shores to come help pack up and get the stuff on the truck but some of their friends helped. After they had it done, they called us and we took them to dinner as we had planned.

After dinner, we came back to our place for a little bit before Ashley borrowed the Explorer so they could go say good-bye to some friends without having to drive the big truck around. She brought it back this morning as they were leaving town on the trip to Arizona.

The House Has Been Shipped!

We got a call just after 11 this morning from Darren at Oakwood Homes in SLC letting us know our house had been shipped. In fact, it was about an hour south of Salt Lake City and would be in Castle Valley tomorrow!!! This is the best news for us. Things are really starting to happen now. We even had a showing on the beach house yesterday and another one today. Who knows, maybe we'll even get this one sold, too.

Castle Valley Home Update

Great news! The well is in and the house should ship the end of this week or next week. Things are really progressing. Also, the garage materials are to be shipped the week of the 25th. Eileen has to be there for the garage arrival to have a forklift on site to unload it. Don't know the exact date yet.

In other news. Ashley has gotten an apartment and will be back to Ocean Shores this weekend to get her furniture and pets. The two weeks of training she was supposed to do, well, she accomplished in three days. We are really proud of her. They seem really impressed with her. They had promised 19 hrs. to begin with but already are starting her with 33 hrs. I think she has hit the jackpot!

Both of our children have really made us proud parents. And if the saying of "you can tell how good a parent you are by how your grandchildren turn out" is true, well Mom and Dad, you did a really great job as I knew you did.

Castle Valley Panorama

Reid "stitched" together a 360 degree panorama from the corner of our property in Castle Valley. Click here to see the picture and his instructions on how view the image.

Note: on my PC I found that Reid's instructions didn't work. When I brought up the picture I didn't see the button on the right side on the picture. So what I did was just click on the picture and it expanded it to full size. Then I just used the scroll bar at the bottom of the screen to scroll the picture around.
