Out for a Sunday Drive - Jeep Style

We had to wait for the floor in the garage to dry (72 hours) so we decided to take a Sunday drive in the jeep. First time Eileen got to be in the front seat. She didn't want too much of a challenge (she's a bit of a chicken) so we drove out to the River Road and decided to try some of the dirt roads off it to see what Castle Rock would look like from that angle. Here we are at the end of the road. We had to cross a dry stream bed about 8-10 times to get here, once even driving in the stream bed. But the views were great!

This is just one of the many of these plants out there.
Clouds were starting to come in and the sky wasn't the greatest, but we had fun anyway. We took the windows out of the front and got blown really good, but boy can you see out then.

One the way down, stopped to take this shot of the River Road and the Colorado River.
After supper we were sitting on the porch and decided to take another short drive. We took Castle Valley Drive out to where it turns into a gravel road. We drove on to Round Mountain and then followed one of the several roads back to the LaSal Loop Road and then home. We had a great day. Can't wait to do it again. Didn't take any photos as it was after sunset down in the valley.

What a fun Sunday drive, probably not much traffic either.

We didn't have any traffic on the trails. Saw a few vehicles on the River Road but that was all. Didn't meet any cattle or other animals either.

Traffic? It not almost terrifies me to drive to SLC? I'm not used to traffic anymore. Love my laid back life here in Castle Valley. However, there is going to be a parade of old cars & hotrods down the LaSal Loop Road on 4-25. We'll have to go over to see it and that will be traffic enough for more.
