Castle Valley Home Update

Great news! The well is in and the house should ship the end of this week or next week. Things are really progressing. Also, the garage materials are to be shipped the week of the 25th. Eileen has to be there for the garage arrival to have a forklift on site to unload it. Don't know the exact date yet.

In other news. Ashley has gotten an apartment and will be back to Ocean Shores this weekend to get her furniture and pets. The two weeks of training she was supposed to do, well, she accomplished in three days. We are really proud of her. They seem really impressed with her. They had promised 19 hrs. to begin with but already are starting her with 33 hrs. I think she has hit the jackpot!

Both of our children have really made us proud parents. And if the saying of "you can tell how good a parent you are by how your grandchildren turn out" is true, well Mom and Dad, you did a really great job as I knew you did.

Castle Valley Panorama

Reid "stitched" together a 360 degree panorama from the corner of our property in Castle Valley. Click here to see the picture and his instructions on how view the image.

Note: on my PC I found that Reid's instructions didn't work. When I brought up the picture I didn't see the button on the right side on the picture. So what I did was just click on the picture and it expanded it to full size. Then I just used the scroll bar at the bottom of the screen to scroll the picture around.

Our New House (In Progress)

Porch off family room and living room. Access will be from family room. The house was in thirds and Eileen had to climb a step ladder and crawl through cuts in the plastic siding to get inside. But it was well worth it.

Looking at the kitchen area. Will have granite counter tops. The island will have a gas stove top in it.
Notice we will have a wall oven with a microwave above it. There is an eating area beyond the island. Also, the island has a raised snack bar.

This is the living room. We had ceiling fans put in here, the family room, master bedroom, retreat, and the two guest bedrooms. Along with the central air conditioning, the house should stay pleasant in the summer. We also are having one put on the porch.

Trip to California

Eileen got back about 12:30 this afternoon from her trip to California to visit her mother and Susan. She had a great time. Mom is doing well and came out to Susan's Sunday afternoon and evening for a visit and barbeque burgers.

Susan and Mike are really doing a great job on the remodel of their home.

Eileen stopped at Albany, Oregon on her way down and saw our new home. It is almost finished. Will post some pictures tomorrow.

Ashley's New Job

Ashley just got a new job in Scottsdale, Arizona and starts May 29th. So, she is packing and leaving next Thurs. She is driving down and will find a place to live and then return sometime in June for her furniture. She got a job at the Hyatt Regency in Scottsdale. You should check this place out! Talk about fancy. We certainly are impressed.

Trip to Mt St Helens

Today we made a trip to Mt St Helens. We haven't been there for several years. Sadly, it was cloudy so could only see the bottom of the mountain. It was nice to see all the green coming back after the eruption. It has been almost 27 years exactly since it happened. Rick was there 3 weeks prior to it erupting.
But it was nice to get away for the day.

Our Castle Valley Home

We spoke with the people in Salt Lake this week and they informed us our new house should be "coming off line" this next week. So as soon as they can get the foundation work done, they can get the house shipped and set up. Although with all the extra work we are having done, like an 8 foot porch across the entire front, the set up and extras will probably take a month to 6 weeks. But best case, we could be moving the first part of July.
